opening a new hotel or keeping up with the day-to-day operations
of an existing location, hotel owners face endless challenges. Roger
Young began Plan B Hospitality Consulting to ease the stress and
bring real solutions to the table. Offering a variety of help, this
all-inclusive consulting service supports hotel owners in their
goal to uphold brand standards. Plan B Hospitality Consulting's
simple mission statement "To enhance and assist properties
in meeting their goals and objectives for long-term success"
says so little, while encompassing everything.
Prior to embarking on this endeavor, Mr. Young was a Regional Service Manager for Best Western International where his responsibilities included hotel openings, quality assurance, staff training, revenue enhancements, and marketing. As Regional Service Manager, he was responsible for over sixty Best Western Hotels in the southeast USA ensuring that all members represented the brand with the highest quality and standards. Before joining Best Western in 1999, Mr. Young was the Regional Manager for Desai Motel Enterprises, LLC in Savannah, Georgia. Desai Enterprises consisted of six hotels in Coastal Georgia and Low Country South Carolina. He was also the founder and president of Golf Savannah, an extensive golf package company that marketed golf in the operations of two hotels in Savannah. Additionally, Mr. Young was an integral part in the success of Golf Santee in beautiful Santee, South Carolina.
Other companies within the hotel industry for which he worked include Hilton, Sheraton, Comfort Inn, Quality Inn, Sleep Inn, Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, and Marriott brands among others. There is no position in the industry that Mr. Young has not held at one time or another. At age 16, he started as a dishwasher at the Hilton Hotel and Conference Center in Asheville, North Carolina. This was soon followed by two stints at the Historic Grove Park Inn & Suites in Asheville.
Over the past 28 years, he has worked his way through the food & beverage, operations, sales & marketing, and executive levels.
Mr. Young submerges himself
in his work for the sake of his clients. No project is too difficult;
and with the right direction, any hotel can be a success. Plan B
can provide that direction. Mr. Young is goal-driven with a firm
belief in the hospitality cliché: "The customer is always
right." He knows that without customers, a business cannot
survive.
A
graduate of the University of North Carolina in Asheville with a
business degree, Mr. Young is currently pursuing his BS in Hospitality
and Tourism from Columbia Southern University. He has also obtained
several certifications from the Educational Institute of America,
including the prestigious Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA). Mr.
Young's educational background as well as his current focus on higher
learning helps him to keep abreast of the rapid changes that are
characteristic of the hospitality industry.
Mr. Young has worked with a myriad of properties with a variety of portfolios. He has developed an outstanding rapport within the Asian American community. This relationship allows him to understand the cultural needs of their closeknit community and allows for much success in assisting their communication needs.
Mr.
Young believes in the success of all of his clients and has committed
his company to the financial success of his clients through endless
ideas, plans, services and strengths. "My success depends on
your success."
